Kolk magazine

Today I received a wonderful package from Hunger Verlag with 5 copies of Kolk Magazine - a beautiful brand new miniature German art magazine.

Three of my illustrations are published there, part of a series of 13 based on Wallace Stevens' poem "13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird" (if you went to the University of Arizona for Illustration you know exactly what I'm talking about...)

Anyway, I am completely delighted with how this magazine came out - its more of like a little book with some amazing artwork in it from all over the world than a magazine. This issue's theme is "Handmade," so all of the work featured is created by analogue means. Should you wish a copy of your very own, you can get one through me (if you're in the USA), or contact Hunger Verlag (if you're in Europe.) Be sure to check out some other beautiful artwork featured in Kolk here.

hah, that's the logo I designed for them this past fall :]

Other beautiful work from other people...

Here are my illustrations:

"I was of three minds,
Like a tree
In which there are three blackbirds."

"At the sight of blackbirds
Flying in a green light,
Even the bawds of euphony
Would cry out sharply."

"He rode over Connecticut
In a glass coach.
Once, a fear pierced him,
In that he mistook
The shadow of his equipage
For blackbirds."

Congrats, bawds of euphony. Love it. Your artwork is beautiful, and you've introduced me to Wallace Stevens, so thanks.
